Cephalopod


Cephalopods (Cephalopoda, from the Greek κεφαλή (kephale), "head" and ποδός (arthropods), "foot" → foot on the head) are a class of marine invertebrates within the phylum of molluscs. There are about 700 species, commonly called octopus, squid, cuttlefish and nautilus. All belong to the subclass coleidea, except the nautilus, belonging to the subclass Nautilina.
